THE MARE OUTPOST | Mediterranean outpost for the enhancement of coastal territories and protection of biodiversity
The MARE Outpost is a separate office of the Italian headquarters of the International Center for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM Bari).
Founded by CIHEAM Bari together with the Municipality of Tricase, the Magna Grecia Mare Association, the University of Salento and the Natural Regional Park “Costa Otranto, S. Maria di Leuca e Bosco di Tricase”, it is a Mediterranean area for international cooperation, university and post-university training, cultural and scientific disclosure, enhancement of artisanal fishing and communities dedicated to coastal fishing. It is a research, observation and monitoring center for the protection of marine and coastal biodiversity.
